Blog 7: Changes to my study program

Hello everyone, today I am going to talk about the changes I could do in my study program. Well, the first thing I'm going to say is: I'm in my second semester, so I don't know much about the subjects and what I'm going to say may change in the future.

The first thing I would add to the curriculum are more technology classes, about Excel or do online procedures for example, because every day technology is advancing very fast, and I think that the work system of the public administration must advance as well, and we must be prepared for it. Other subjects I would also add are those related to the environment and gender perspective.

Regarding the workload and length of studies, I want to keep the five years and distribute the reading load better, because there are some subjects where you have to read a lot and others where you don't.

About the faculty facilities I can't talk much, because I don't know the school but considering what I have heard from other students I would make the school bigger, as the new faculty that will be available soon is supposed to be.

About the use of technology as I said before I think we should be very prepared because technology changes very fast. And finally, about the teaching methods I think I can't say much because I only know the online methods and it isn't the same when we are in face-to-face classes, so I just hope for a method where I can understand the topics so then I can apply them.

    I agree about using gender perspectives in class, I try to do it in English classes :)

Hello everyone! This time I'm going to talk about my experience learning English at the university. I felt these classes so different, because for many years I had the same English teacher, and I got used to her way of teaching and changing teachers at first it felt strange but then I adapted to this new way of teaching. The use of blogs was something very new for me, because when I was in high school, I wrote shorter things, but this was very useful, and fun because each one had different topics. Blog 4: Post-Graduate Studies

When I was searching my career, I considered studying a master’s program, but for now my only objective is finish the Public Administration career and work for a time, then when I get economic stability probably I study one in regional development, because I am from the sixth regions  and always I saw how other regions had great progress and I will like help with something to my region to get the same. The subject I would like to study is gender mainstreaming, economic and environment. I would love to study outside of Chile because I think the experience will be very helpful, because see the way things work in other countries give ideas to make things better here. I don’t know a specific place where I would like study, because I haven't investigated universities specialized in administration, but I always want to go to Canada, United States, Italy, France, or London so probably if I had the opportunity to study outside of Chile, I would search some place in these countries. ...

Blog 5: My future job

Hello everyone! This time I am going to talk about my future job. I would like to have a job related to public policies. I imagine it very busy but at the same time very comforting because I will be helping vulnerable people. I prefer a balance between indoor and outdoor work because I think if I had an only indoor or only outdoor job, I would get bored. I would like to travel a lot in my job, because I think in public administration it’s necessary to evaluate the way we work and having the experience of how things are in other countries helps to be better. I think salary is important especially for recent graduates because they must pay the debts of their studies and at the same time support themselves financially. In my case, I know that at the beginning the salary will probably not be too much, but I would like it to be enough to pay my debts in a not long period of time.
